Friday.

With all of this talk and commotion ya girl had to put her two cents in on this one! This just goes to show as long as you have a little bit of money, anyone can be a star. Luckily for her, the song/video was so catchy and ridiculous, it has about 36 million hits on you tube! Now I don't know how her video has more hits than some MJ videos, but I can't lie it's so hilarious, I had to watch it about two times (okay maybe 4 hehe).

I will keep in mind that this little girl is only 13 ,but can't help but laugh every time I see the video or hear the song. Guess this little girl is laughing all the way to the bank though, I just read that it took her $2,000 to make the video and song, and now from iTunes downloads she made about 1.3 million and its still going up. #NotBAD

But I still have one problem....should I take the front seat or back seat?

Femme Underrated.

SMH at some artist that get all the fame and hype, and the ones who truly have talent get NONE! It makes me believe that the audiences really don't have a real ear for music, they just want to listen to what is percieved as "cool". For those real music heads or those who appreciate true talent, I decided to list some female artist that I feel are #underrated.

JOJO.

First and foremost I have got to say my girl JoJo. You have your Selena Gomez & Miley Cyrus Disney hoes, that steal all of the spotlight. This young girl can BLOW and has swag/soul, that none of the Disney girls can compare too.  I give JOJO mad respect and wish people wouldnt sleep on her so damn much. Check out the video feat Bow Wow "Baby It's You".

FLOETRY.

Every since these fly two women came out, I always thought..what is wrong with people.. How can they not be feeling this? All of their songs spoke to me with their poetic words, and beautifully sang songs by who you guys know as Marsha Ambrosious who is killing the game right now. I can't forget these ladies as the duo Floetry. If you never heard of them, today is your lucky day, peep one of my favorites.. "Getting Late".

Tamia.

Tamia is so so so so unbelievably underrated, not only is she drop dead goregous, but this chick can sing! Her voice is so unqiue and sweet, and it makes me sad how soo many people sleep on this woman! Here is one of the songs that whenever I hear it, I can't help but close my eyes and let the music take over. #OfficiallyMissingYou.

AMERIE.

It doesn't hurt that she is my third cousin! Haha also her first album, "All I Have" was freaking the ISH! I really miss her getting down to the root of that essence of GOOD music. She is easy on the eye and her voice is very different, and I find it to be very distinctive. I hope if Amerie comes back to the music game, she gets back to the basics and why I loved her in the first place. Here's "Talkin to Me".

Juciy.

Damn who ever doesn't think time flies is lying. Can you believe it has been 14 years since one of the most prolific MC's in the game passed away? As someone who not only appreciates hip-hop music, but dabbles in it herself (haha had to do it), Biggie is one of the number one influences. The way he would throw his words together with such a fly, steady flow, was amazing. Especially in a game today with your damn New Jerk Dougie Boyz who aren't talking about shit, and whose flows anyone can do. Basically Biggie all I want to say is #WEMISSYOU!! Thank you for blessing us with your masterpieces in which we are still bumping till this day.

Here's one of my favorites... JUICY.. R.I.P. Biggie!!!!!!!

Flaws and All.

Today I was at my favorite spot (ROSCOES) chopping it up with one of my crazy sexy cool friends, and I just realized how blessed I am. Through thick and thin my friends have been there for me. Yes there have been some World War III moments but thats what I think makes us stronger. Sometimes I swear I shouldn't even have friends because of the craziness that has happened in the past. Thats how I know its true love for the ones who stick around. I can be a lot to handle at times, but Im taking it one step at a time.

One of the things I need to work on is thinking before I speak and being sensitive to others. I can be very sick at times, and I regret why I even said it in the first place. I am a very sensitive person who at times can be insecure and I think thats why these sick moments happen. This is something I definitely want to seriously work on... and to my friends, thanks for loving me through my flaws and all. <3

I Miss You.

Marvin Gaye-" "I heard in [his voice] a strength my own voice lacked."

Who made Marvin Gaye say words like that to make him judge his own vocal capabilities you ask???

The reasons I love Pandora I swear! You have your favorite genre and they come at you left field with a song by a artist you never heard of and YOU LOVE IT! When I heard the song I knew, but it sounded a little different. It sounded different because Teddy Pendergrass sang the hell out of this song. To my surprise I looked at the title and David Ruffin also sings this Soul master piece "I Miss You",which may sound a little familiar to because it  has been sampled by Jay-Z- "This Can't Be Life".

I had to do some Google research, and David Ruffin used to be one of the lead singers of the legendary Temptations. Go figure right? I began to youtube his songs and brother has feeling and soul unlike any other. He had a sad background story though. He like many stars and artist before was addicted to hardcore drugs and died of a overdose back in 1991.

So between the two versions Mr. Pendergrass or Mr. Ruffin's are you feeling more? I have to ask.. I honestly don't even know if I can compare...

Da Dot Food For Thought: Dana.'s Top Blue Eyed Soul Singers

If you ask me what my definition of swag is, it is a sort of confidence that someone has that is evident in their talk, walk, and style. When swag is displayed, it causes girls like me to become extremely attracted to that person. Along with swag.. nothing melts my heart more than a boy with soul. Now if you really want to throw me for a loop, a white boy with swag and soul is WOW!!

With that being said, I decided that I will list you guys in my opinion the Top 6 Blue eyed soul singers. Now there are many soul singers but not many white boy blue-eyed-soul-singers.

Here is my top:

#6. The Begees.

I know what you are all thinking... how could 3 white ass men with tight ass pants, long ass hair, and voices higher than mine have swag or soul right? Well the answer is: The are the epitome of GROOVE. They brought that Jive Talkin and harmonization like no other. Not to mention their songs have been sampled by like every cool hip-hop artist in my book. Here's a song from them that will throw groove and swag for that ass: "Inside & Out".

#5. Hall & Oats.

Yes this duo totally had a sorta 80's swag with their sweet harmonies that melted perfectly with the guitar sound and synth! I love how they don't even try to have swag and they just ride the beat and let their voices sing to us.. Oh chea...: "I Can't Go for That".

#4. Michael McDonald.

Okay I know by looking at him you would think WTF right? Who is this grizzly ass bear right?! Nah this man has soooo much soul it isn't even funny. He gets it in like Motown status.. yeah I said it.. MOTOWN status. When he sings it is effortless, but you feel his voice #sounique. Not to mention this song by him was sampled by the biggest G's in the game Nate Dogg and Warren G (Regulators), I'm sorry but it doesn't get anymore gangsta than that!!: "I Keep Forgettin".

#3 Justin Timberlake.

I know what you are thinking.. why isn't JT #1? I we all know why he belongs on this list... he has #majorswag, he can dance (Most white boys can't), and his voice is flawless and pure and his songs are to die for. So why is he #3? In my eyes.. for many reasons, first of all he threw my girl Janet under bus after the Superbowl, when he knew he was in on it with her, and then tried to act innocent about the whole situation. Second of all I know Justin is soo swagged out but why haven't  I once seen him date a black woman, and that's huge for someone who claims to be so "down".

Lastly #NSYNC.

Yeahhh I SAID IT!!:"Rock Your Body".

#2 Jon B.

Now rounding in at #2 is my favorite RnB 90's boo Jon B!!! Nothing soothes the soul more than some nice cool chill relax.. kick back slow 90s groove. Jon B's voice is just  SO sexy! Unlike JT he stars  black woman in all of his videos... ahh he makes my heart melt!!! Here's one of my favorites from him: "They Don't Know".

#1 Robin Thicke.

Everything about this man exudes the 3 S's.. SEXINESS, SWAG, and SOUL!! His voice and its capabilities to goo extremely high and low sound beautiful to my ears. He also arranges, plays the piano, and writes all of his own music. Also he is married to a BEAUTIFUL BLACK WOMAN Paula Patton. Robin Thicke " Sex Thearpy" .

YESS PLEASE!!

Dot Food For Thought: For the Ladies

I had a interesting thought, that has resonated in my mind many times before and I thought why not share?...

There will always be a girl who is prettier than you, has better style than you, and makes more than you. So ladies instead of focusing as to why you don't have these things and try to compare yourself to them, why cant we embrace our differences?

Too many times before have I caught myself asking myself.. why can't I be/look like her.. but who cares. This is what makes me and everyone of you ladies UNIQUE and BEAUTIFUL!  So instead of mad dogging a girl who looks better than you, smile and wave! So ladies let embrace ourselves and each other!! Also not to forget to stay hustling, healthy, and humble. :)
