Bad 25.

So close but yet so far away. The most anticipated documentary of the year "Michael Jackson:Bad 25" will be dropping on ABC Thanksgiving Day. With commentary and interviews from those who worked closely with the King during his most innovative Eras. The trailer was just released today.. lets just say my white sparkly glove is already out for this!

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.

 I can't lie I am not the biggest fan of Taylor Swift. I can't really pin point it.. her voice gets on my nerves and I hate how she acts so damn surprised when she wins an award. LOL Enough of my ranting! I'm sure all of you have heard her new song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". Travis Garland's cover however gives this song new life. Making it sound oh so sexy with a baby making feel to it! It baffles me as to why Travis Garland isn't as big as a name as he is. He started out in the early 2000's band NLT (with Glee's Kevin McHale). Travis also frequently works with another girl with soul JoJo. Not only is he a sweet vocalist but he is also easy on the eyes. *SWOON* His original EP FASHIONABLY LATE drops Oct 22 on TravisGarland.com

What version do you like better? Taylor's or Travis'? You know who has my vote!

BMI Awards: Mariah Carey.

Last Friday I had the absolute pleasure and honor of attending the BMI Urban Music Awards which honored Mariah Carey with a songwriter award. Many people don't know but not only can Mariah blow but she is an amazing songwriter and arranger. The show also included a tribute to Mariah that featured the likes of Eric Bennet, Joe, Jermaine Dupri, and Fantasia (She killed it with her "Hero" rendition!). I was on cloud 9 because I have been a ride or die Mariah fan since the beginning of time and to be so close to her and watch her speak was so unreal!

Miami.

Wow what an experience. 10 shades darker.. peeling.. and a rash on my arm. It was all worth it! LOL Miami is such a welcoming city and although the weather is hot and humid it stays like that from dusk to dawn. We met many friends, shared many laughs, ate great food, jet skied, and paddle board (I tried).    My highlight of the trip was heading down to the beach and watching the sunrise at 5am! Never seen anything like that before it was simply BEAUTIFUL.

The Real Life of Dana and Sara Teaser

Celebrate.

I am counting down the days until the remake "Sparkle" hits theaters August 17th. The movie stars Jordin Sparks, Mike Epps, and my girl-- the late great Ms.Whitney Houston. The original "Sparkle" was before my time, but I always remembered my mom playing the soundtrack around the house and her singing it from the top of her lungs. I have been waiting for this to drop for the longest and I was extremely saddened that Whitney passed before she could do more promo and have her comeback.

The song "Celebrate" is a duet with Jordan Sparks and Whitney Houston. The song has a throwback funky feel to it that kind of reminds me of Whitney Houston's "Million Dollar Bill". The video features the entire cast of Sparkle missing of course Whitney. The video ended up being a tribute to Houston as they look up to the sky and sing to her and Jordan rocking a Whitney Houston shirt at the end. The closing of the video shows Jordin Sparks saying "We love you Whitney"; then the scene closes.

Celebrate does just that, celebrates the life of a talented woman.

Words can't describe how much I love this man. Shot in downtown LA, Robin decided to do his rendition of the Whitney Houston classic "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)". This is what you get, sounds like a breath of fresh air. Changing the lyrics up a little to fit in tribute to the late great Whitney. Pure genius! Do you like it?

I can't wait to share the CRAZY song, "Here You Go (Blaka)" with you all! The beat  goes super HARD and the bars are out of this world. I took a different type of delivery you guys are probably not used to from me, kind of a Busta Rhyme/ Ludacris approach.

We shot the visuals to it yesterday with a B-Boy Hip Hop scene with a cop car, a group B-Boy scene, and an elevator scene (Think Drake Headlines). We still need to shoot the Firetruck scene then the video will be ready for editing. I am really excited to see how it is going to come out and I will share it with you all once it is ready. #MajorLeagueMusic

Behind the Music: Brandy.

I was watching VH1 today and saw the preview of the upcoming episode of Behind the Music featuring Brandy. The preview took me back and made me reminisce that in the 90's Brandy was the Black All American girl-next-door. NOW it is hard to believe, but if you remember she starred in "I Know What You Did Last Summer 2", "Cinderella" and in the TV sitcom  Moesha. Let's also not forget the multiple hit songs and albums that she tore up the charts with. Brandy was that girl! It also makes me think that she doesn't get the recognition that she deserves. I believe Brandy should be more recognized for her accomplishments and showing us (then) that young black girls out there could make it;  and one day become Cinderella :). I commend Behind the Music for recognizing her. What do you guys think?
