Dubb.

Here at Tha Dot Spot we are all for exposing new talent. He goes by the name Dubb, and the song/video is called, "You Can Do Better". This was sent by a friend to peep, and I LOVED IT and I think you will too!

Check out Dubb this Friday, July 1st at Cahanga Night Club in Hollywood, with special performances by Cali Swag District!!!

This one is for the ladies....

Out of My Head.

I know you guys have been hearing the blazzing track, "Out of My Head" Lupe Fiasco feat Trey Songz. Now you can accompany the song to the visual. Count on Lupe to not exploit women and their bodies, make a very classy video, and formulate an awesome treatment.

Rappers take notes....

Mrs Right.

One of my weaknesses and guilty pleasures is.... teenie booper music. Ever since I was a youngin I loved all boybands and girlgroups, and it never went away. Haha so let me introduce you to Mindless Behavior.. think B2K with out the drama. Peep their new video feat my husband, Diggy Simmons who I just met on Monday.. let me refresh your memory.. haha okay.

Here's "Mrs Right"... cute right?

Let's Get LOUD.

If you want sex on a platter... Rihanna's LOUD Tour is for you. Rihanna embodies sexiness from when she first set's foot on the stage. RiRi opened with, "The Only Girl In the World"and shimmied and gyrated between her dancers and stood on a conveyor belt and striked alluring poses. The momentum got greater and greater as each number progressed though.

Let me talk about Rihanna's body though.. she is stacked in ALL the right places, she looks even hotter than I remembered! Since Rihanna isn't known to be a dancer.. she was able to sing LIVE the entire time.. and let me tell you she sounded AMAZING. She is a far cry from the little Barbados girl singing "Pon De Replay" on the Tyra Banks show.. who had no stage presence at all. Now Rihanna is what a modern pop star should BE!

My favorite moments at the concert has got to be Rihanna dressed in a sexy tuxedo and cane singing, Prince's "Darling Niki". Rihanna danced around and seduced some of her female dancers, then striped it all of for S&M (which got the crowd jumping). During S&M Rihanna was tied with chains and still hitting them notes! Another one of my favorite moments is when Rihanna sang "Man Down", I just love the island vibe to it, the number felt intimate, and she sounded amazing of course! The moment that really got me going was when she ran into the audience and stood on a smaller platform where there were drums set up, and she rocked out on them to Shelia E's "The Glamorous Life". I never knew Rihanna can get down like that! Let's not forget when RiRi brought up a lucky guy on stage and seduced him during "Skin".

The whole show Rihanna gave us "Skin", or what my friend Alexis called it, "Sequence & Thighs"! Rihanna's show is a good time and eye candy the whole night. One thing I liked is she did ALL of her hits. Not ALL her songs from LOUD. I hate when artist perform too many songs from one album and no one can sing a long because most of the time they only know the hits or didn't buy the album LOL.

The Verdict? Rihanna is a BAD BAD BITCH. Once a good girl is gone she's gone FOREVEA!

Nature Feels.

I must say I am pretty impressed with this Frank Ocean character. Aside from him getting in twitter beef with Chris Brown, he is putting out some good music. I would normally say don't dare sample the CLASSIC MGMT song, "Electric Feel", but he totally made it into it's own song... and I love it!

Listen to Frank Ocean's take on being a freaky Adam with his Eve.....

What do you think?

Marvin's Room (Video).

Here is the official video from Drake that has the internet... and people talking, "Marvin's Room." This song is probably the most remixed song in the past two weeks, with versions from JoJo (My Fav), Teenea Taylor, Sammie, and Chris Brown... SMH.

Warning.... watching this video may get you drunk LOL.

Golden Rule.

One of the longest known rules, "If you don't have anything nice to say.. don't say it at all." Sometimes in life, it takes losing something important in order for you to learn your lesson. No one is perfect but I believe everything happens for reason.

One can say sorry so many times... and when change doesn't happen.. maybe it's time to do something different....

"My Stupid Mouth"

Oh Bruno.

I stumbled across this absolutely beautiful performance of "The Way You Are", by Bruno Mars. Count on Bruno to bring that retro style back and KILL it. I actually like this rendition way more than the original.

Check it out... What do you think??

Copy and Paste.

Diggy Simmons... the young & talented brother out of Queens,NY is the off spring of the legendary Rev Run from Run DMC. Diggy came down to Moguldom Studios today and talked about his new album, his new tour, and being young and in the spotlight. Interview with Dejuan for HipHopWired is coming soon.

Look out for Diggy, he is about to do BIG things to the game! Here is his first single off his album, "Copy and Paste".

Diggy is a little cutie too! I have a school girl crush hehe...

Never Can Say Goodbye.

It has been two unfortunate years since we lost The King of Pop, Michael Jackson. He has been such a huge inspiration in my life, so I decided to celebrate Michael in a little video I edited. The Thrill may be gone but he is forever in our hearts... WE LOVE YOU MICHAEL!!!

Femme Fatale.. It's Britney BITCH.

Aside from the annoying ass girls that really thought that they were Britney Spears.. and gold digging hoes that were in our area at the Hyde Lounge....

Effing AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will honestly say.. I wasn't expecting the Femme Fatale show to be so extraordinary. I'll first start off with Nicki who is known to not be a very strong LIVE performer, but I guess for the Britney tour you must be on point.. and she actually was. Nicki appeared and sounded to be rapping LIVE, and she brought her psychoticness that she is known for.. which was entertaining ass HELL! My favorite song she performed was the last song, "SuperBass".. the energy was hype and the crowd went wild once we heard the first 3 seconds of the track.  Nicki also brought it with her eccentric wigs and customs OF COURSE and her alter ego Roman brought that theatrical aspect to her performance.

Hyde Longue Wristbands!!!

Now BRIT BRIT... Round of applause ma.. honestly.. I didn't think you had it in you anymore.. but I was pleasantly surprised. First and foremost.. Britney looked FUCKING HOTT.. I don't think I've seen her look so good since the "I'm a Slave for You" days. Britney was absolutely stunning.. and you just felt the energy in the venue once she set foot on stage. Although Britney is a far cry from her "Baby One More Time" days (Dancewise) we must all remember she is well on 30 years old and isn't 16 anymore.. and she was hitting the moves with her dancers the best she could!  Britney made me remember that she is a full on entertainer.. which she proved to me last night. Her costumes were absolutely out of this world.. from Japanese Kimonos to Lace and Leather.. BITCH! Brit Brit was looking fly. We all know that she was lip syncing.. but the visuals, music, dancing, and energy totally made up for it!!

Set List:

1. Hold It Against Me
2. Up N’ Down
3. 3
4. Piece of Me
5. Big Fat Bass
6. How I Roll
7. Lace and Leather
8. If U Seek Amy
9. Gimme More
10. (Drop Dead) Beautiful (feat. Sabi)
11. He About To Lose Me
12. Boys (Remix)
13. Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know
14. Baby One More Time
15. S&M
(Rihanna cover)
16. Trouble For Me
17. I’m A Slave 4 U
18. Burning Up (Madonna cover)
19. I Wanna Go
20. Womanizer
21. Toxic
22. Till The World Ends

The Verdict:
If you are looking for a GOOD ASS TIME.. BOMB ASS MUSIC... VISUALS.. AND HOTT BRIT BRIT... the Femme Fatale tour is a MUST SEE. Britney baby I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the amazing show ma. Britney is a living LEGEND.. whom everyone my age-range grew up with!! Keep it coming!! Whoooooooo!

Peep below for some of her outfit changes from the show.. as well as the kick ass finale, "Till the World Ends" feat Nicki Minaj.. it was EPIC.

I Aint Mad At Cha.

I really admire J Cole and what he is doing to the game right now. I believe he is bringing HipHop right where it needs to be back at. This young brother is extremely talented and unlike a lot of cats out, he pays homage and respect to the greats that came before him. I'm excited for his album to finally come out... sometime soon!

Check out J.Cole paying tribute to Tupac performing "I Ain't Mad At Cha". It sounds beautiful.. I'm really feeling this performance, are you?

Next To You.

Okay.. we ALL love Chris Brown and Justin Bieber, but can someone please explain to me what is going on here? First of all this is all  a little dramatic for me, Chris Brown's girl gets hit by a car then he falls underground and starts dancing with demons? It maybe some type of artistic expression that I'm missing maybe? If any of you know please explain to me. Also.. did Chris Brown also die and Justin Bieber and his girl survive?? SMH

Sooo many unanswered questions! Is anyone else confused like I am???

The pros of this video though is the song is awesome and Chris Brown is hitting it with them dance moves. I also think Justin Bieber should wear beanies more often.. he is a little cutie!!

Verdict.. gosh I hate when music videos do not correlate with the song..one of my pet peeves.

Watch down below... what do you guys think?

Happy 40th Bday Tupac.

Must have been "getting high watching time fly...." Pac was gunned down when he was 25-years-old back in 1996, and today would mark Pac's 40th Bday if he was still with us. It makes me wonder would any of the rappers that are out today have any relevance if Tupac was still alive? I also think this is what makes rapper's like Tupac and Biggie eternal legends, because way after their death their, music and images of them TRANSCEND!

It is crazy that in the midst of the eve of Pac's 40th bday, the shooter from the 94' studio shooting of Pac came forward and admitted that he pulled the trigger.

Why do I love Pac so much? He is the epitome of a THUG and THUG LIFE. Like me he was a Gemini and misunderstood, and while he did contridict himself, his words were true meanings of who he was and how he felt at the moment. To my fellow Gemini who lived in the world on his OWN terms a lot like myself...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TUPAC!!!!!!

Today it's "All About You" ....I'll be blasting Pac all day!!!!!!!!!!

Real Hip-Hop Sh*t 2.

WOW
C.Breezy is doing the rap thing again... and It is HOTT!! To me Chris Brown can't do anything wrong, anytime he touches a track it is pure magic!! Check out "Real Hip-Hop Sh*t 2" down below..

What do you think? Should CBreezy just stick to singing?

Behind the Mask.

Michael Jackson fans all over the world participated in this pretty cool video. Like MJ would have done, it features many different types of people rather it be race, religion, sexual orientation, and those with disabilities. I admire MJ for always bringing people together. There are not many artist today that can bring the world together like MJ.

I actually really like this song too, most of the unreleased stuff they try to come out with sounds to demo-ish and you can tell it is unfinished. This song Michael sounds great and the music makes me wanna dance!

One thing this video is missing................
ME

Unsolved Mysteries: The Black Hope Curse.

Unsolved Mysteries is one of my all time favorite TV shows, when I was younger my dad would watch it and I would watch with him scared for my life. Even though it scared the black off of me.. it was sooo interesting and always got me thinking.

I LOVE that Lifetime still brings it with the re-runs, even though I have seen most of them, I am still watching and still captivated like I've never seen them before.

Yesterday, they played one that I actually never seen. The episode was called "The Black Hope Curse", it was so freaky and unsettling. Basically a few families moved in or near a home that was built on a old African American cemetery, that was filled with over 60 former slave bodies. All of the families experienced traumatizing events, and even a few deaths.

I found the episode so I can share with you guys so you can watch exactly how freaky and mind blowing this story is. Not to mention you have Robert Stack (RIP) narrating the whole way through.. you are sure to get chills after watching.

It also made me think that black people don't play in life or the after life (LOL).

PART I

PART II

PART III

JoJo Marvin's Room (U Can Do Better).

Yes it seems that JoJo is a far cry from these days...

She is back re-making "Marvin's Room" that I LOVE by Drake. It is sooo crazy to me because I just keep seeing a little thirteen year old girl who told us to "Leave and Get Out, now she is telling people "Fuck that new girrrrlll that you like so bad.." haha I also am feeling this though.. whatever JoJo sings sounds amazing to me, because her voice is soooo crisp and has so much soul.. I'm a fan...

What do you think????

We all know Marsha Ambrosius voice is AMAZING... "Late Night Early Mornings"is my favorite track from her album with the same title!! I love how Marsha is always bringing positive messages in her videos!!. This one shows the horrors of unsafe sex, and what can be the outcome.

If you haven't listened to her album... it is a definite must have for those R&B heads out there!

We Like to Party.

Sometimes LESS is more... see what happens when you chill out on the over production and techno track (Who Run the World)? You get a nice fun mid-tempo produced by Kanyeezy and Consequence before their little beef.

Recently I had the pleasure of sitting down for a MadameNoire.com interview with a talented & beautiful young lady, named Shelea Frazier. Shelea's song, "Love Fell On Me" is the LEAD single off of the hit movie, "Jumping the Broom, that stars Laz Alonso and Paula Patton. Shelea talks to me about being featured on such a hit movie's soundtrack, how it was working with the legendary Stevie Wonder, and what we can expect from her in the future.

Universal Bar & Grill Performance.

On May 20th, at Universal Bar and Grill, I had the pleasure of rocking the stage with some amazing rappers and singers. I was especially honored that I was the only female MC that got to spit it on stage. I want to thank everyone who came out and supported, and also a special shout out to Benny Wolde-Yohannes for editing this SICK video of the performance.

Enjoy... and Look out for more from me.. DanaDot.

Sankofa.

SANKOFA.

“Se wo were fi na wosankofa a yenkyi"
"It is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten"

This symbol represents the idea that one must take from the past what is good and bring it into the present in order to make positive progress through the benevolent use of knowledge.

Sankofa is actually an Akan word meaning go back and take. Sanko- go back, fa- take. This idea has since been adopted by other tribes in the area and other cultures around the world.

On Saturday, June 4th 2011 (My Birthday). After five years...I finally did it, it most definitely wasn't an impulse but something that I have always admired and lived by. Some may call me sick.. that Janet Jackson also has it on her wrist.. mine is in the other direction (If that makes me any less sick hehe), but when I first saw it she first inspired me to go ahead and do the damn thing.

Finished Product.......

If anyone is interested in getting tatted up, my boy Antoino can hook it up with a reasonable price and he is AMAZING. Just let me know!!! Or hit him up on his Facebook page: HERE
